Hotel je gradjen u periodu 1936-1939-te godine.

Hotel Staro zdanje je mozda i najlepsi dvorac u Srbiji, povrsine 9.000 kvadrata. Objekat je gradjen 1868 godine sa zeljom kneza Mihaila Obrenovica da bude zgrada Skupstine Knezevine Srbije, buduci da je tada prestonica Srbije bila u Kragujevcu. Kada je prestonica premestena u Beograd, ova ideja je odbacena i objekat je postao letnjikovac porodice Obrenovic.
Hotel je poznat po ogromnoj sali - Knezeva Sala, gde su se odrzavali veliki balovi koje je organizovao knez sa dvorskom svitom, uglednim gradjanima i "diplomatskim horom". Pocetkom 20-tog veka postaje hotel, kada je izgradjena i pruga uskog koloseka Beograd-Arandjelovac. Postaje tada jako popularan i ugledan u visim krugovima tog vremena.
Sada je u jako losem stanju i trenutno je u izradi projekat potpune rekonstrukcije sa ocuvanjem izgleda, fasade sa kljucnim dvoranama. Zasijace novim/starim sjajem.
